Day 1 - The Lovely Me with Some Fun Facts

Oh, hello!

1. Chicago. Cubs. I live and breathe baseball. Once February rolls around, the world can revolve again.

2. My career and my passion also lies with animales (Fact #3 I speak Spanglish). I love animals especially big cats. I am studying to be a zoo keeper and I eventually want to open my own sanctuary.

3. Refer to fact #2.

4. I have a HUGE tattoo on my forearm. It's a tiger from the Milwaukee zoo:

5. My favorite color is... drum roll please, yellow. I even drive a yellow car.

6. I love my family beyond all rhyme and reason. I have an 18 year old brother, 7 year old brother, and a 2 year old sister. They are my life (well, at least the little ones are). I cannot imagine life without them.

7. I'm having a hard time coming up with 10 facts.

8. I loooooooooove music. My music taste is very eclectic. However, my all-time favorite bands are Breaking Benjamin and 10 years.

9. I'm learning how to play the piano and the guitar right now. I'm not very good at either.

10. I have an affinity for nail polish. I have a crazy collection. I have colors for every season, and yes, I do accessorize nail polish by season. So right now we're in spring colors because it hit 50 degrees in the Midwest today!

Weep little lion man, You're not as brave as you were at the start

A new found love - Mumford & Sons.

'But I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck'

I first heard them perform on the Grammys a couple days ago and I was my interest was peaked. The intensity they performed with was incredible. So I purchased their CD - daring, I know.

I am pleased to inform that their CD is completely worth every penny. I don't think any of the bands I listen to use the banjo. Their mixture of bluegrass, folk, country, and rock is very intriguing and makes for some pretty awesome listening.

My two favorite tracks are 'The Cave' (the song that nailed me on the Grammys - very fun song about overcoming heartbreak and living life to the fullest) and 'Thistle & Weeds' (a slow song that really captivates the emotions of hope in dark times).

*all song interpretations are my own.

So @ImNotFurious gave me the idea to start a caption game with the lovely wildlife photos I find. And since I follow some of the funniest tweeters around. We'll give it a go.

Here I will post the picture and the responses I get.

Random Thoughts At a Random Time

I am sitting her at 1:13 am, in pain, tired... but yet I can't sleep. Why can't I ever sleep?

I want to post something meaningful like I see in other's blogs but I just can't find the muse anymore. And I hate it. I may possibly post some of my fanfiction. I would like to get back into that when I have time.

The Cubs are done for the season. They still have a few more games but I won't see any of them. The off season is so sad. No baseball. It's what I thrive on. Like a flower dying in the snow. Sigh... only have to wait until January.

Goodnight. <3

G-Force & Other Movie Titles

I took my little brother to see G-Force in 3D today. And I have to
say, I am impressed. I was mostly Transformers meets James Bond meets... well, talking rodents. It wasn't crazy awesome effects filled but it was super cute. Maybe it's just because I love guinea pigs but the characters were cute. And the plot was probably about a B+ in my book. Def one to take the kids to. Colton is all for the talking animals thing so this was perfect for him.

With the previews that played before the movie was one title I am most interested in: Alice In Wonderland (Tim Burton style). I love Alice In Wonderland. It is one of my fav all time movies. I also love Tim Burton. I think he's a genius. So putting Burton and Alice In Wonderland together is a magical thing. This film is due out March 5th, 2010. I will make sure to be at that midnight showing. And here is the trailer for what I am sure is going to be another spectacular Tim Burton/Johnny Depp film:

Other movies I am looking forward to:

Where the Wild Things Are. This is an amazing childrens book and it holds a special place in my heart. The trailer looks fantastic and promising.

9. This film looks terrifying and intriguing. I can't wait for it to come out on 9-9-09 (how appropriate). I love these kind of machines-wiped-out-mankind-strange-things-save-the-world sort of films/books. Plus the trailer music ("Welcome Home" by Coheed and Cambria) is totally bad ass.

As I was walking into the theatre I saw one of the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie poster that I had not yet seen and it had probably one of the best taglines ever: Once again I must ask too much of you, Harry. This line just leaves you wondering... "Well, what are you asking of him Dumbledore?" I would love to see that movie a third time and ya know what, I think I just might.

So I leave you with a movie quote: Be brave, Professor. Be brave like my mother... Otherwise, you disgrace her. Otherwise, she died for nothing. Otherwise, the bowl will remain empty... forever.

Know where it's from? :)
